A lot of rain

Even the Assistant thinks there's too much rain. She finds it a challenge to get Dog Monster out for his regular walks. On this wet morning the house is very peaceful as we all know we may as well sleep given the weather outside.

Me & Thomas are getting on just fine. I have turned my attacks on to Dog Monster but even when I jump on him he just growls a bit & moves away. He gets to go for lots of excursions.

Thomas sleeps with his paw across his face when he doesn't want to be disturbed

He & Dog Monster are very tolerant of one another. Even when DM jumps on the bed to bark at the birds Thomas doesn't move

I had a bit of an adventure the other morning. I had woken up early. She said the bright moon made it seem like morning & sent me out. I was a bit bored out there & wondered if I could jump on top of the big fence between our garden & Anna-next-door's garden. So I did it but I couldn't get down!

I had to shout for the Assistant who laughed at me!!

I like playing through the bannisters

Here's me looking pretty cute I think

And on the stairs

Sick, Poo and Complaints

Sorry about the headline Readers & also for the delay in writing. Summer is a busy time & I have to fulfil my Cat duties. I am outside a lot.
Also, I have had a complaint about my last post! I know, it's a bit of a cheek isn't it? It's OK though, it's only from the Assistant.
Get this - she complained that I made it sound as if she's always complaining!

I gave her a nice cuddle the other night & she really liked it. She says she realises now that Thomas isn't quite the Angel she thought he was & that he is actually quite determined to get his own way & to dominate!

She still adores him though.
He's clever, always cuddling her & purring.

I'm a bit more my own person.

I haven't owned up to having a poorly tummy last week resulting in sick on the carpet, & also the runny poo. (Sorry Readers, but these are her obsessions recently). I think it may have been that frog I ate but she didn't actually see me eat it so she has no proof. I am not admitting responsibility for yesterday's stuff on the carpet & the nice rug either. She says there's "always something" & includes Dog Monster in her grumbles as he's no Angel either.

We have some harmonious times. Sometimes the evening are very peaceful when we are all together. The Assistant likes it & ceases her complaining for a bit.

Here are pictures of both of us on the railway line at the back.
Sometimes we go out together.

This is where I mostly abandon the collars. I have now got rid of  4 - or is it 5? She has bought yet another big bell for me - she just doesn't seem to realise it stops me having fun with the birds!

She keeps on having "bright ideas". The latest today is she might shut both of us cats downstairs tonight so she can get some sleep. She thinks Dog Monster would then be able to choose where he sleeps upstairs, like he used to before we arrived, & he would be more settled. He sometimes wakes her up too, it's not just us. I think Thomas has a good meow on him & might just howl all night!

Dog Monster is still very spoiled in my opinion. Here he is with Anna-next-door who comes to play most mornings. She's nice to us too although a bit overfond of Thomas if I'm honest. She still calls me "Trouble" as in "Here comes Trouble" when I appear.

Someone said this looked like yin/yang cat

Thanks for reading. For all her complaining we have the Assistant under control. She feeds us plenty & my tummy is quite big now. She says we are good in some ways, like we come in when she calls us. She loves us really.

Getting Used to Each Other

It feels as if I am always reporting how the Assistant gets annoyed with me. This time it was more with Thomas. It's her own fault. She had high ideas that Thomas was very virtuous & he managed to give that impression until yesterday when she saw something she maybe shouldn't have.

The Assistant gets excited when we are calm & peaceful together, especially in the evenings. She & Dog Monster stay in her bedroom & we now sleep as near as possible. Easy to get up & meep at her to wake up early!

Thomas was sleeping in the sun this morning.......

........so I went to bother him.

He told me to go away

So I went & found a bee to investigate

Thomas is dominating me! I let him as it's fun to have a friend. This is another occasion where I went to bother him while he was sleeping.
Can you see his tongue? He's washing my head!

I know some of you like to see the Dog Monster. Here is a picture from this morning. He is kept in by a fence now. Me & Thomas can go under to get in & out. Sometimes we jump over but Dog Monster can't.

Anyway, the thing she shouldn't have seen which caused a lot of trouble - you won't be surprised to hear that I started it by fetching a mouse. As Thomas was outside & seemed interested, I showed it to him. She had already chased me off twice & was about to again when Thomas picked up the mouse &, in no time at all, stuffed it in his mouth & ate it! The lot, no bits left. She saw it all.

He looks so cute mostly

She left us outside all afternoon! Luckily it was a nice day or I might have had to call the RSPCA, aka Anna-Next-Door, to let us back in.
Then for tea we only got a little bit of food, she said she was so mad we didn't deserve any if we ate mice. Well, I hadn't eaten that one.
She said Thomas might be sick again. I let her blame him for any sick left around in-doors seeing as I get blamed for most everything else.

We're all friends again today. Until the next time!

Peace & Love

It's a bit hot!

Thomas & I have been lying around quite a bit these last few days.

I found a very comfy spot in a container she'd used for some special grass & a wild orchid! I haven't squashed the orchid.....

I've tried to be a bit closer to the Assistant. She keeps calling me The Lodger & says I use the house like a hotel.
Well, I am a teenager!

Me & Thomas both like a bit of sunbathing.
Dog Monster tends to stay indoors when it's very hot.

Thomas & Dog Monster have had a bit of a tussle over who uses the beds.

The tartan one was a favourite of the Dog Monster's till we came.

But Thomas has taken it over

I sleep anywhere that's handy

Bye for now

Becoming a family

Three Months & not counting any more!

Now that Thomas has been with us for more than 4 weeks My Assistant has decided to concentrate on me a bit more. I am not that bothered & could do without the kisses but she thinks cuddling me often will be good for me.
She says I need "taming" whatever that means. She does call me names - "juvenile delinquent" is a favourite & I don't think that sounds so good.

She frets about Dog Monster who frankly is a bit of a wimp. Thomas has taken over his favourite bed after I took over another of his favourite spots early on. She tries to help Dog Monster but really he needs to help himself!

Me & Thomas both move around quite a bit but apparently Dog Monsters like routine & to have special places of their own. Perhaps in time he will come to love us, but not yet.

This photo of all three of us close up to the Assistant is unusual. She got very excited thinking it was a "breakthrough" of sorts but it was only a one-off.

We like to play on the stairs, especially at night & in the early mornings while we're waiting for the Assistant to get up & feed us.

On the whole we do alright. Thomas would always like more food but she says he has to have 'little & often' because he's a bit old. I love being out & have had a few mice since we last spoke. I don't always bring them home now as She disappears them if I do. I managed to lose another collar but she produced another one with a big bell this time, sigh.

Settling in and Settling Down
Week 10
My Assistant has been a bit preoccupied recently so my post is a little delayed but here we are now.
We had a lot of rain recently. She says me & Thomas are wimps for not wanting to go out in it. We still refuse.

Anna-next-door has become fully trained

I have discovered that the nice lady next door has a key to our house. If I get caught in the rain when Dog Monster has taken my Assistant out I go to Anna & tell her & she will let me indoors.

This happened the other day. We all sat on her close up. She complained saying she felt crowded!
No pleasing some people!

It is nice having Thomas here as we go out together quite a bit. He has also been useful in upgrading the food as he insisted on better standards almost immediately.

Dog Monster & I are still getting on OK but he is always a bit stand offish. I usually make the first move but even if I jump on him he tends to ignore me.

Thanks for reading

New dynamics
Week 9

The arrival of Thomas has really changed everything at our house. He & I have been getting on really well & we play outside together now. It's nice to have a companion even if he doesn't like staying out as much as I do.

This is us in the back garden

This is us out the back together

There was a blip last week because She & I sort of fell out. She seemed to really object when I caught two rabbits - on two different days. She shouted at me & said she couldn't trust me. I took it to heart especially as Thomas & She are besotted with one another & I was feeling a bit pushed out. I'd tried not to show it but bringing rabbits was obviously not the best way to get back in her good books.

She finds Thomas comical sometimes

He puts his feet in the water!

At time of writing I haven't brought anything dead back for 5 days & she has mellowed.
We are friends again.

This shows my bells. There are three now.
The collar comes off at night when we are all indoors.

And of course She's been worried about Dog Monster & keen to make sure he felt OK.
One night we all went to sleep in the spare room & she was thrilled to bits.

Can you see me in the corner in my igloo?
